Well, ya can’t tell much from the teaser, other than there will be people playing the New York Dolls, which is cool enough, and Personality Crisis soundtracks the trailer. So maybe if that’s supposed to be at the Mercer Arts Center, we can get some Suicide, Harlots of 42nd Street, or Magic Tramps, too. One can hope.
Here’s a first look at Vinyl, HBO’s rock ‘n’ roll drama series from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Terence Winter, set for premiere in 2016.
The 10-episode series, set in 1970s New York, explores the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop. Bobby Cannavale stars as record label president Richie Finestra, who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path. The cast also includes series regulars Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, James Jagger and Paul Ben-Victor.
Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Winter executive produce with Rick Yorn, Victoria Pearman, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, John Melfi and Allen Coulter. Winter also serves as showrunner. Check it out above.
